O2B Healthy! Teleconferences are a great connection for folks seeking long-term health and weight-loss goals -- before or after weight loss surgery.
No matter where you are, you can join the call!
Each month a WLS professional will share information on specific topics related to bariatric surgery. The format is interactive with discussion concerning questions and answers. You can be a participant or simply listen. Your confidentiality is protected.
When you register, you will receive the telephone bridge number for the call. Remember there is no fee. You will need to pay for the long-distance phone charges.

What is the TeleConferencing Structure?
TeleConferencing connects you by telephone to us and a group of fellow WLS patients. At a set time we all dial in to the same number. TeleConferencing allows people in different locations to talk as if everyone were in the same place. You listen and learn. You discuss issues. You share ideas. You ask questions. You learn without leaving home. Simply dial the phone number provided to you, and you are part of the conference.
TeleConferencing is great for people who are too busy to make a meeting or who live in more remote areas.
- When you sign up for a teleconference, we purchase a telephone number for everyone to use. This number is called a bridge phone number because it provides a bridge for everyone to be on the line at the same time.
- When you register for the Tele-Conferencing call, we give you the bridge phone number and a personal identification number (PIN) for that Tele-Conference. At the scheduled time you dial the phone number, enter the PIN, and start learning.
- You are responsible for your long-distance phone charges. We have provided resources for low cost long-distance. We do not endorse any of these services. Using these low cost long-distance services, the call usually costs you $1.50-$3.00.
TeleConferencing Etiquette
The Teleconference works best if everyone follows a few basic guidelines.
Call from a quiet place (no barking dogs or crying children), so that noises from your environment do not interfere.
If you're not able to maintain quiet environment, dial *6 which won't allow anyone else to hear what's going on at your place. When quiet is restored and you're ready to talk, simply dial *6 again and you'll be heard by the whole group.
Corded phones are better than cordless or cell phones.
Introduce yourself when you make a comment or ask a question.
Bridge phone numbers
Bridge numbers sound like something new but you don't need to be put off by them. They are simple to use. A bridge number simply allows several people to be on the line at the same time.
We use bridge numbers to do telecoaching groups and teleconferences. When you register for a telecoaching group or teleconference you will receive by email, by telephone or by mail a long distance number and PIN number (personal identification number). Please note that the long distance number is a toll number and below we have provided information on services that cost as little as 2.5 cents to at most 5.4 cents per minute. Having toll numbers lowers the cost of the groups for everyone in the long run.
Here's how you join the conversation:
- When the time for your telecoaching group or teleconference begins, dial the long distance number provided. (Don't call too early or your numbers won't work. We only have the line for the hour scheduled.)
- When prompted, enter you PIN followed by the # sign. Once you enter the PIN, you are in the group.
- Simply introduce yourself and start learning.
