How does O2B TeleCoaching work?
Weight loss research reveals that regularly scheduled check-ins are the most effective means of achieving goal success. Accountability is the process that leads to success. This is true for both group and individual coaching.I enjoy seeing clients reach their goals. Many WLS patients find themselves stuck and frustrated before coaching, and through coaching, discover new strength to return to the road to health.
I bring to our work a first-hand understanding of the struggles of obesity and WLS gained from experience with both non-surgical and surgical weight loss patients. I've studied the research. I know what works.
Group TeleCoaching
We flourish best in an atmosphere of positive acknowledgement. One of the foundation tenets of Obesity2Balance Group TeleCoaching is to first develop a place of safety and cooperation where we all can let go of criticisms and competition, and instead, embrace genuine interest and support. Together we can find and support what each individual needs to create more positive and healthier lives for self and others. In many ways we are musketeers: One-For-All-and All-For-One.

We craft a relationship solely to empower you. I spark your energy, your motivation, your determination to achieve your health goals. As you accomplish your WLS goals, you build competence, which in turn fuels your confidence, and that leads to new energy and more success.
Why does coaching work better than talking to a friend?
With me as your coach, you have a level of trust and honesty because you know that whatever we discuss will not leave our relationship. There is no substitute for good friends, and friendships remain a vital support through out your journey. However, friends can't help but see your life through their own eyes, and as a result, their perspective of what is best for you may be biased by what they need from you. Their needs may interfere with your effort to take care of your own needs. In our conversations, you can see your own needs, hopes and dreams with clarity as I ask the questions and provide the structure that will help you find your own way. Our O2B coaching relationship is all about your needs.
Why does coaching work better than talking to myself?
Stuck spots, plateaus, and discouraged moments are part of any change process. When you are by yourself, you may not be able to see beyond these dips in the road. Sometimes a little fresh air on a concern can make all the difference in getting over life's little dips and back on your healthy path.
I don't know about you, but I really do not like to reinvent the wheel. When we are alone, sometimes we forget that others may have been on the same path we are and can show us a shortcut. In coaching you can draw upon the wheels I've already constructed. You can be assured I'm reading and studying the latest research, and talking with WLS patients. You can take advantage of the knowledge I have about effective change strategies, and through our relationship, you can mold these ideas to fit your own life.

What's the difference between coaching and therapy?
Coaching is not therapy. Therapy is the appropriate choice if you are in a crisis or experiencing overwhelming emotions. Therapy is the place to start for emotional healing, especially if you are having trouble managing your feelings. Therapy is conducted face-to-face in order to address psychological issues in depth.
Coaching revolves around you -engaging positive energy while you illuminate your own solutions. And you are accountable for taking the steps to build a satisfying and healthy future. As your coach, I am a mentor, facilitator, partner in your growth. Our relationship emphasizes your discovery and development of your competence and confidence. How long does coaching last?
That depends on your needs. Two consecutive months has been good for many people. Less than two months may not be enough time for you to develop your own momentum.
Is coaching for me?
